You have the right to object to our use of your personal data, or ask us to delete or stop using it if there is no need for us to keep it. This is known as your right to be forgotten. When exercising your rights, we will inform you of any lawful reason that may require us to continue processing your data.
Updating your data
In order to maintain the accuracy of your information and ensure your details are kept up to date, we request that you notify us of any changes.
Accessing your data
You have the right to know what personal information we hold about you and to receive a copy of that data in a commonly used and machine-readable format.
Use of cookies
A "cookie" is a small text file that is written to your device from a server. Cookies allow you to have a better experience when using our website as they record your preferences and interactions.
If you wish to disable cookies, you may do so at any time through your browser settings.
Links to other sites
Our website may contain links to third party websites. If you follow a link to any of these websites, please note that they have their own privacy policies. We do not accept any responsibility or liability for these policies.
Where we store your personal data
We follow accepted industry standards to store and protect the personal data we collect, including the use of encryption where appropriate.
All information you provide to us is stored on secure servers and afforded a high level of protection.
The data that we collect from you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside of your country of residence. Where this occurs, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data.
Although we take reasonable steps to protect your data, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures to prevent unauthorised access.
HAILO National Talent Programme
If you join the HAILO National Talent Programme waitlist or send an employer enquiry, we collect the details you enter in the form. For candidates this can include your name, email address, mobile number, nationality, city, current status, years of experience, functions of interest, preferred track, LinkedIn profile and CV. We use these details to assess your fit for the programme, to contact you about it and, with your agreement, to introduce you to hiring companies. They are stored encrypted, and we do not share them without your permission. For now, if you tell us you are a Saudi national, we ask for and store only your name, email address and nationality, and no CV or other details.
UAE and Saudi data protection
This section applies to the details collected through the HAILO National Talent Programme forms. Hailo AI Technologies Limited is registered in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) and is the controller of this data. We handle it in line with the DIFC Data Protection Law (DIFC Law No. 5 of 2020). We also follow the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021) where it applies, and the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law (Royal Decree No. M/19 of 1443H, as amended by Royal Decree No. M/148 of 1444H), which covers the personal data of people in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia even when it is processed outside the Kingdom.
Why we use your details
We use your details only to assess your fit for the programme and its tracks, to contact you about intakes, and, if you agree, to introduce you to hiring companies. For employers, we use your details to reply to your enquiry and arrange a call. We rely on the consent you give when you tick the box on the form. You can withdraw it at any time, and withdrawing it does not affect anything we did before you withdrew.
What we never do
We do not sell your details, use them for advertising, or share them with an employer without your permission. We do not make automated decisions about you: a person reviews every application.
How long we keep your details
We keep waitlist answers and CVs for 12 months from your last contact with us, then delete them. If you join a programme intake, we keep the records we need for that intake and for placement, and tell you how long when you join. You can ask us to delete your details sooner at any time.
Where your details are stored
Form answers and CVs are encrypted when we receive them and stored on servers in Singapore operated by our hosting provider, Contabo. This means your details are transferred outside the UAE and Saudi Arabia. By ticking the consent box, you expressly agree to this transfer. We protect your details with encryption and access limited to the HAILO team, and we transfer only the details needed for the purposes above. When someone signs up, our email provider sends HAILO a notification, and that email contains no personal details.
Your rights
You can ask us to tell you what details we hold about you and how we use them, give you a copy, correct or complete them, delete them, restrict or object to how we use them, or withdraw your consent. We reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our reply, you can complain to the DIFC Commissioner of Data Protection, to the competent UAE data protection authority, or, if you are in Saudi Arabia, to the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA).
